Naval Uniforms

Up to 1911 the Australian Commonwealth Forces button was worn on our navy’s uniforms. The actual uniform was based on that of the Royal Navy. From 1911-1928 a tilted (or “lazy”) fouled (caught in the rope to which is attached) was featured. The fouled anchor is symbolic of the hazards the navy faces.
