American firm JHB released the Peter Rabbit series of buttons under license in 1977 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the publishing of the first of Beatrix Potter”s books in 1902.

The earliest cards used by Beutron included 3 buttons, the the name of the character and a quote from their story. This is was 1979 release by JHB, showing Tom Kitten. The Beutron card dates from then, or soon after.
