In 1970 there were 6 firms making ‘slide fasteners’ in Australia, including ‘Aero Slide Fasteners’, originally set up by Jewish refugees from Europe in Wales, but presumably a subsidiary or otherwise connected with Talon-Textron by the time these zips were marketed. Textron Pacific Pty Ltd, trading as Talon Fasteners, was a subsidiary of the American firm Textron Inc, from around 1972 through to 2014.
