Buttons and Crime
Who knew that so many crimes have been solved due to a mere button? Of course, I’m not sure that some of the evidence would stand up to scrutiny today, and as the first article outlines, the idea of a button as a clue was a staple of novelists. It is quite possible some of these reports are urban myths rather than true reporting.
