New Uniform Buttons

Commonwealth & Dominion Line

Backmark: Harveys London

The backmark relates to Harvey’s Naval outfitters.

Notice the “monochromatic designations” for the colours of the house flag on the button. The vertical stripes on the top-most cross represents red. The horizontal stripes on the other cross, blue, and the plain background, white.

Not surprisingly, for a company that lasted for 125 years, there are multiple backmarks on uniform buttons for this firm.
