Port Line was the new branding of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line in 1936.

The Courier-Mail (Brisbane), 31st January 1936 page 6.

Commonwealth and Dominion had formed from four shipping companies in 1914, and had been taken over by Cunard in June 1916. It provided passenger and cargo shipping to Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately, 13 ships were lost during WW2, but new ships were built after this. In partnership with other shipping companies it was involved in service to Canada, and also with container shipping until 1982.
