General Plastics taken over: 1963
In 1963 Beutron Australia Ltd. (previously G. Herring Pty. Ltd.) made an offer to take over General Plastics Ltd., whose profits had been falling for nearly a decade. The initial offer was declined, but the revised offer accepted, signalling the end of a button manufacturer that had, through several incarnations, started in 1919.
