1st Australian Horse, N.S.W. 1897-1903

The unit was gazetted in 1897, would serve in the Boer Wars, then was absorbed into the Commonwealth Military Forces in 1903 as the 3rd Australian Light Horse (Australian Horse). http://www.austbuttonhistory.com/uncategorized/23rd-march-2021/

Hobson & Sons are military uniform manufacturers. The firm was established in 1850, acquiring the Lexington Street premise around 1880.
