Button Selling Goes Modern!

Canberra Times, 8th July 1960 page 11.

J. B. Young Ltd

J. B. Young Ltd was a chain of department stores established in Queanbeyan, NSW, by Irishman James Buchanan Young in 1914. They bought the first block of land offered for sale in the then new capital. They would later takeover Fossey’s, Charles Rogers & Sons and J. B. Meagher &Co. They were themselves taken over by Grace Bros in 1979, with stores either closing or being rebranded, although the Fosseys chain continued until later becoming part of Target.
