Dawes Livery Button

Backmark: D. Schmidt Adelaide

This shows a Wyvern with a knotted tail on the point of a golden upright Halberd (battle-axe on a pole).  There was a Edgar Rowland Dawes, MP in South Australia, but he was the son of a carpenter. Does anyone know of a Dawes family connected with South Australia who would have household livery?

Mystery Button

Stokes & Sons

This monogram button has the letters B,Y and P under a King’s crown, which would hint at a government department.

If the order is YPB, it could be the Youth Peoples’ Brigade of the Salvation Army … but I really have no idea? Does anyone know?
