Beauclaire Finds
These “pearl-ball buttons”, as General Plastics called them (although surely they would not function well if used as a fastener) date from 1955 or later, as it was not until that year that the company quoted that the buttons were “Approved by the Federal Council of Dry-Cleaners of Australia”. However, such “buttons” (dress ornaments) were advertised in 1953, and possibly sold from 1950, judging from the earlier style of card they were sold on (see below). I have examples in three sizes and 6 colours.
