New South Wales Artillery

Adding to some previous posts is this lovely example of an officer’s full dress tunic c.1875-1880, from the Australian War Museum collection. The buttons show the 3 stacked cannons.

Centre front fastened with nine silver New South Wales artillery buttons, eight made by ‘ FIRMIN & SONS 153 STRAND LONDON’, and one by ‘C. K. MOORE SYDNEY’.

C. K. Moore is not a common backmark. He was a  Sydney merchant who contracted for various government departments for uniforms, drapery, and other items during the 1860-70s.
