Children’s (and adults) realistics from the 1930s-50s. The pictures come from a 1955 New Idea which had patterns for children’s hand-knits. I think these buttons woud have been lovely on hand knits!

The fish to the right were sold on ‘Jack and Jill’ cards by Rex C. Norris. The others were found on General Plastics ‘Tiny Tot’ cards. See the Children’s and Babies page.

The dog was sold on ‘Jack and Jill’ cards. The koalas are typical of animal figure buttons cut from sheets of casein plastic that were popular from the late 1930s.
