1940s General Plastics

The brand name ‘Beauclaire’ does not appear until 1950. Three brands used by General Plastics before that time are shown below; Fashion Buttons, American Styled, and Modern Miss. The cards are larger than those commonly sold n the 1950s, approx 7-8cm wide and 10.5-11.5cm long.

Below are some loose buttons of a style that match with some on a Latest Fashion card.

Another style of card/branding (that sometimes had ‘A GP Product’ printed at the bottom, is shown below. The cards were just labelled ‘plastic buttons’ and described as iron proof and boil proof.
